How to properly care for your jewellery

How to properly care for your jewellery

To get the best look and life from your Saar Co pieces, you need to put in a little leg work too. At home care is super important for maintaining the quality of your jewellery and ensuring you get the absolute most from the pieces you buy.

Here's our guide for cleaning and maintaining your jewellery based on its material.

Stainless Steel Jewellery Care

Majority of Saar Co's pieces are made from Stainless Steel, a super durable material that's sure to stand the test of time, with a little TLC. If your jewellery has been through the trenches, maybe worn during gardening or accidentally baked into a cake, you'll be able to bring it back to life.

Here's what we recommend:

1. Combine baking soda and water in a bowl, aiming to achieve a toothpaste consistency.

2. Dip a tooth brush or other gentle cleaning tool into the mixture and get scrubbing

3. Rinse all remaining mixture off of your piece

4. Use a soft towel to dry it, and allow the piece to sit for a few minute to ensure completely dry.

Leather Jewellery Care

The edgier of Saar Co's pieces feature leather, a material that's a little more delicate and requiring a little more care. Leather jewellery needs to be maintained regularly, and cleaned quickly in the event of stains or exposure to erosive ingredients such as chlorine.

Here's what we recommend:

1. Combine mild soap and water on a cloth

2. Wipe down the piece, maintaining a small circle motion or gently tapping the stain site

3. Wipe down with a clean damp cloth afterward and allow to air dry (do not expose to high temperatures such as hair-dryers to dry).

Pearl & Gemstone Jewellery Care

Saar Co's trendier pieces champion pearls and gemstones, materials that may seem daunting to maintain but isn't too complicated when you know the rules. The main thing to remember - do not submerge in water.

Here's what we recommend:

1. Mix a mild dish soap with lukewarm water

2. Dip a soft cleaning cloth in the mixture and wipe the pearl

3. Let them air dry
